Goals of DLDIWiki

The goal of DLDIWiki is to collect all the information about the Dynamically Linkable Disc Interface (DLDI) in one place, and to provide a repository for all available DLDI drivers. This is not a wiki for general homebrew or DS related information, however pages about DS applications that use DLDI are encouraged, with the focus being on the DLDI aspects of the application.

Rules

These rules must be adhered to when editting DLDIWiki. Failure to do so will result in a warning, followed by blocking of the offender's user name if they continue to break the rules.

Illegal content

There is to be no illegal content posted to DLDIWiki. This includes copyright infringing material and direct links to illegal content. Links to pages containing illegal content are not allowed, nor are links to pages hosted on the same server as illegal content. The only exception to this rule is if the linked-to page does not contain illegal content and if there is no alternative source of information.

Immoral content

This wiki is intended to be viewable by people of any age. Any sexually-explicit content is strictly not allowed. Obscene language is discouraged, but allowable when the context calls for it. Such language should be preceeded with a warning.

Vandalism

Any vandalism will result in an immediate one-week block on the offending user as well as a warning to the user about future offences. Any further vandalism results in a permanent block.

Warnings

Warnings to users will be sent via email (if possible) and placed on the User's personal page. The warning should also be placed on DLDIWiki:Warnings, to keep track of warnings issued to users.

Uploads

Files uploaded should only be one of:

 • Images used in articles
 • DLDI files and related source
 • DLDI tools and related source

Normal users do not have the ability to upload files. If a user wants to upload a file, they should apply for the Uploaders group by posting a request to DLDIWiki:Upload rights request, posting a request in [this thread] or by sending an email to webmaster /\t dldi d0t drunkencoders d0t com. Be aware that the email address should only be used as a last resort, since it will not be checked very often. If a user uploads a file that is not one of the types specified above and does not have a reasonable excuse, they will be warned and the file deleted. If they do it again, they will be removed from the Uploaders group.

Article content

These are some guidelines for certain articles and categories within DLDIWiki. Please note that this list may never be complete, so an article may still be allowable even if it is no mentioned here.

Devices

Category:Devices and its two subcategories, Category:SLOT-1 devices and Category:SLOT-2 devices, is for articles about specific devices. Device drivers should be placed on the device's page, using the provided template. If a driver is usable by more than one device, the clone device's article should redirect to the article containing the driver, using the format below:

#REDIRECT original device
(or or )

If you have come across problems with a device, you may wish to use the Discussion page first, to see if it is just you or other people are experiencing the same issue. If it is a confirmed issue, then make a note of it under the particular device driver. For example, you might post this on the GBA Movie Player (Compact Flash) page:

Writing fails with program X

DS Homebrew

Articles about DS Homebrew are encouraged, but the focus should be on how that homebrew relates to DLDI. For example, information on converting movies for MoonShell is not relevant, but information on which devices have trouble saving the position in an e-book within MoonShell is relevant. All pages about DS homebrew should be added to Category:DS Homebrew by adding the tag to the bottom of the page.

Tools

Category:Tools is intended for tools that perform DLDI patching or related tasks. They are usually computer-based (as opposed to running on the DS), but this may not be the case forever. The tool's article is also the place for tutorials for that particular tool.

Instructions

Category:Instructions contains instructions and tutorials on DLDI-related tasks that aren't covered by an article in Tools or DS Homebrew.
