[edit] Usage
The DS-Xtreme automatically patches homebrew applications with a DS-Xtreme driver when they are booted. This driver is not necessary, but is provided for use in case automatic patching doesn't work. Since the DS-Xtreme doesn't actually do DLDI auto-patching, but rather driver auto-patching (which outdates DLDI), DLDI enabled applications that check whether they are DLDI-patched (such as ScummVM) will detect no DLDI patch, and may stop running. Also, as usual, applications which boot other applications require the other applications to be patched.
[edit] Caveat
Inserting the DS-Xtreme card into a powered-on DS will cause the DS to reboot.[1] This means that save backup tools such as eepinator and RAC, which copy saved data from the EEPROM or flash on a DS Game Card to a homebrew card, cannot work with DS-Xtreme.
